A juicy beef burger is made with a patty of ground beef, often cooked on a grill pan, served on a bun with ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise, and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and cheese.
After trying out zillions of beef burger variations, here’s our take on a perfectly cooked juicy beef burger. The patty can be cooked over high heat for a shorter period of time for a rare burger, or over medium heat for a longer period of time for a more well-done burger.
To make juicy beef burgers with a Pakistani twist, you will need the following ingredients:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 hamburger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion slices for serving.
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, egg, bread crumbs, onions, cilantro, mint, garam masala, chili powder, and salt. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty. Place the patties on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. This will help the patties hold their shape when cooking.
- Preheat a grill or griddle to medium-high heat.
- Place the patties on the grill or griddle and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the patties are cooked through and the desired level of doneness is reached.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or griddle until they are lightly toasted.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom bun, followed by lettuce, tomato, and onion slices (as per your likeness). Top with the other bun and serve hot.
Here’s a quick tip to make burgers juicier. When cooking the beef patty, avoid pressing down on the patty with a spatula, as juices will squeeze out. Instead, gently flip the patty and allow it to cook evenly on both sides.
